Talk:M3 AT Gun
Are we sure on the 50mm shell size? Running through wikipedia, I find the 37 mm Gun M3 as a much better fit, and could find no Allied 50mm Artillery weapons in World War II. If it is the 37mm, here is the proposed RL section
There is an 57mm to replace the 37mm however the 57mm can't be air droped while the 37mm can.Your right there isent a 50mm. David
Developed and in production by 1940, the 37mm M3 gun was the very first American AT gun. It's main job was to support infantry and was light enough to be hauled by a jeep. However, new German tanks and designs made it quickly obsolete, and it was gradually replaced by the 57mm Gun M1.
Okay, the only problem is the replacement of it in 1943, which would not make it suitable for 1944 ork, but it's the only M3 AT I could find on wikipedia...
