The sniper's best and only friend. Only they may use one. Cannot have rifle grenades.

Snipers can squeeze more damage with their Springfield than regular Soldiers and can aim longer distances, making this the ultimate long-range anti-infantry weapon (50% chance to kill an enemy with the first shot). Snipers also have a higher chance to hit vehicle crew (75% chance, vs. the 50% chance of other units). This weapon uses Weaver Model 330 scope.

The range of the Springfield itself not actually increased, but rather the accuracy in which a target can be reliably hit is increased due to a telescopic scope that aids aiming at most distances, as opposed to iron sights, which provide less target detection capabilities, aiming and identification. The introduction of scopes to a weapon provides improvements to both long range effectiveness and reconnaissance capabilities.
