The Hồ Chí Minh trail was a logistical system that ran from the Democratic Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Vietnam through the neighboring kingdoms of Laos and Cambodia.
The Ho Chi Minh Trail has always been the stuff of legends, a seemingly endless number of backwater paths and trails that started near Hanoi and ran almost 1,000 miles down the length of the country, crossing into Laos at several points and ending near Saigon where it deposited weapons into the hands of the communist guerrillas fighting against US and South Vietnamese forces.
In MnB:Recon, your team operates IVO (in vicinity of) the DMZ (the demilitarized zone) near Khe Sanh and Da Nang on the Laos side of the border. During your patrols expect to see the enemy working at supply depots and various stashes. Due to the fact the enemy thinks he is relatively safe in his backyard, traps and high alert defense postures should be minimal. Depending on your mission and the damage you inflict to the enemy, their stance may change on the next encounter. It is your job as a commander to manage your effect in the battle space and how well the presence of your team is known by the enemy. (Also called heat.)
