Strategies to get you medals

Sapper Commendation

You get this when you build 50 constructions. One way I know is to build a "fort". It involves a lot of sandbag walls and Barbed Wire. Put the sandbag walls in a reverse "V" shape. Put barbed wire clear across the screen except in one area in front of the most forward sandbag wall. Build bunkers, trenches, and Mortar Pits in the wall. If you have a sig, also build an antenna. Below is a pic of one of my mega-forts.

First and foremost, this is how you spell it, guerrilla, not gorilla. It means "Little war" or so, guerra- meaning war and -illa used to signify "little" or endearment. Anyway, it's one of the most wanted medals, as it gets you +3 TP cap. A simple but effective strategy involves using an officer, a gunner, two zooks, a medic, and a sniper, assuming a free officer. Use "Close Protection" as your op. Buy a gunner and a zook first. Then, buy the sniper. If your men are still fine, give them morale boosts if necessary. When everybody has at least 21 morale, buy the second zook and the medic. Now, your team is complete, and some people should start to be ranking up, especially your gunner. Give Ranger training to your gunner, your better zook, your sniper, and your officer. Then, use Heroism on everyone. Save 8 TP, just in case. Ranger train your second zook now, if you want. This strategy kicks Tiger and Wespe butt, and if you're lucky, even flak butt.

Key Points

  1. Keep your zooks in different areas so they will pick off different targets.
  2. Place your troops just above half screen for the best effects
  3. It's important to have everybody over 100 HP, so you have high survivability, but use the medic anyway-they save lives.
  4. Since there are no defenses or vehicles, Flak Tanks are just a fact you'll have to deal with, pray that your zooks get it before it gets you.

below is a image of a great setup to get GW by josh. The men on the flanks have shotguns, the middle man has a BAR and the two other guys have garands, all have nades. It is a good idea to get a sniper, because if your men get into CQC the sniper can shoot at that German.

This strategy is a simpler one. you need a rock about 3/4 and a size were you can place 5-6 men on top. To start if you have the Westpoint Commendation, send your officer off the battle ground. Next send your four men in front of the rock for some protection, and make your men go into a square so no friendly fire from grenades. When you get enough points buy a medic and put him in the middle of the square so all your men can heal at once. When you got some points you want to buy your men some weapons. give your best man a BAR so he can make the best out of the gun, give your worst man a shot gun, next give one of your men a Tommy gun so he can pin guys. For the final man give him a carbine or a M1 Garand which one you lean for, but for me I would chose a M1 grand to get any one which goes past your front line and give him a Rifle Grenade. You can pick one more guy for your squared, a zook, Sarge or a sniper. Sarge or the sniper is a safe option but if you buy the zook he can cause friendly fire which would screw up your game. If you buy sarge put him on top of the medic, if you bought then sniper put him in a corner down the bottom. If you do buy a zook place him at the top and beg him to destroy the vehicles in one shot. Some helpful tips are, use your medic to get crates, buy your squared bayonets, If you receive something bad such as a bomb, arty, or V1-A Rockets place your squad on the rock to risk minimal casualties. Upgrade your men with heroism to stop one shot kills from snipers. There are many things that can f@#! up this strategy such as a blitz wave or a tank such as a Flakpanzer, Tiger Tank or a Wespe. If this happen go on that rock buy a zook and hope he shoots that vehicle. This strategy is not 100% sure you will get the ribbon.

Lots of strategies can get you this medal, but one that's good starts with 4 SpecOps an Officer, and an Engineer. Split them into two groups on both flanks of the battlefield. Buy an engineer when possible and build a Cam-net over one group. Then, get a zook and put it with one group. Put a cam-net over the second group and put mortar pits beneath both groups. Get all morale to 20+ and put a medic in each group. When you have enough TP's buy a tank for each group to use as cover or build sandbag walls as cover.

Medal of Honor

This medal is fairly easy to get, that is if the Germans dont bombard you with Blitz waves every 30 seconds. Assuming the Germans send about 4 troops per wave, expect that you have to survive at least until wave 40 to 60. If you achieve that, you will inevitably get the medal. This medal is therefore only a challenge for a newly created or resetted profile. A quick way to get it is to move all your soldiers 3/4 up the screen, this decreases the chance of them using arty on you. You could also keep the number of your troops at 6 or below. After you do this buy Sarge. Move him up the screen too. Over time just upgrade their weapons, similar to how the picture of Guerilla Warfare shows above. If they do happen to send an arty or V1 Blitz just move up the screen. Problem solved. Note, that much of this strategy was inspired by the Guerrilla Warfare strategy above

Legion d' Honneur

This medal is difficult to get, but worth it. I obtained it by advancing screens until I had enough TP to buy an engineer and a pillbox. I built the pillbox then sent out 2 Frenchies. Then I moved my 4 soldier and 2 frenchies 3/4 up the screen. I left my engineer near the pillbox. Over time I bought 2 corpsmen and put them in the pillbox. Then I gave my frenchies ranger training. If they got hurt I would move them back to the pillbox to be healed. Then I'd put them back out into the field. But I always made sure I had one in the field at all times. Never two in the pillbox at once. When they reached NCO I gave them Heroism to boost their health to 200. Eventually I repeated these steps, giving them both a BAR and also eventually sending Sarge out there.

Interdiction Ribbon

While not tough, trying to achieve this award can be tedious, time-taking, and boring. The strategy I used was to simply start a game, get an engineer and wait for Assault Pioneers. When one came, I put down a pack of TNT (further building distance then mines) in front of him and Booby-Trapped it. Have your engineer and your other soldiers hold their fire until the enemy pioneer attempts to deactivate your TNT. Taunt to get more enemies on your field to blow up. Do this over and over again until you get overrun, then keep using this strategy until you obtain the Ribbon.
