As for weapon (and in fact all of the promotions) balancing, I’d prefer more of a side-grade, rather than stright-up-grade.
Like, you can unlock a M3greesegun, Garand and M1crabine for a radiooperator all at the same time. They are just effective at different things.
M3 gives more suppressive power and CQC effectivness, Crabine is medicore in…[Read more]
I really like that idea about “Limited and predictable randomization.” @Kacpo
Including lots more passive kind of skills into the mix would be great.
Reducing weapons, rank or skill trees in favor of another is a great idea.
Someone like the Signaller really does not need a big choice of weapons nor would the Medic.
Some could have more Rank…[Read more]
I like these ideas, but have few suggestions of my own:
Increased reaction time by x2
reduced accuracy by 25%
morale damage (suppresion) x2
fires ONLY at the enemies who are aiming/preparing to fire.
This skill is supposed to make the gunner effective at preventing enemies from firing at your soldiers, thus allowing them to move…[Read more]
Found this great poem from WW2.
The Tennessee Maneuvers.
The devil was given permission one day,
to select a good place for the soldiers to play.
He looked around for a month or more
wanting a place that would make them sore.
And, at last was delighted a country view
where the black walnut and the hickory grew,
and vowed that Tennessee…[Read more]
Has Prone-Firing. Mortar. Calls in a Jeep that stops exactly here the call was made with 50cal that he needs to man himself.
Covering Fire. An area suppression (pinning) skill would be great. Half the chance to hit anything but twice the chance to pin all enemies in the target area. Works for some 10 seconds. Different weapons…[Read more]

Almost the right thread.
If you would have looked closer to the topic list of the Last Winter sub Forum you would have seen this http://mudandblood.net/new/forums/topic/how-to-buy-last-winter/
hmm I changed the topic name but in the link it still has the original name… . ..
Re-post out of the wrong forum and the wrong topic.
If I could also make a simple request…POWs are our captured brothers right? Which means they are trained solders right? So shouldn’t they also be able to follow basic orders movement orders like when to move and when not to move. If we could just be able to give them move ord…[Read more]
You are discussing Recon stuff in the MNB3 forum and you are totally going off topic.
This is sadly way to off to leave like this so I will have to re-post most of this stuff in the proper places.
I will also lock this thread since the question/request has been answered and it therefore serves no further purpose.
Hope you all understand but…[Read more]
You’re not wrong about the lethality (and randomness) of the mines in this game. Unfortunately, the current version of the game does not have mine spotting coded into the game. As a matter of fact, the game never has with the closest thing being that all mines were simply visible regardless of an engineer’s presence or level. That version of the…[Read more]
High level base defenses are definitely a no go for all the reasons listed above by Lance. Just the sheer fact that a single enemy soldier touching the table in the middle results in failure is enough to make me pass it. Definitely a mission type that could use a bit of reworking.
Other missions that I don’t hate, but that can get on my nerves…[Read more]
While I think it might be a little too strong to have direct control over encountered allies like Montagnards, Kit Carsons and POWs, I think any weapons Free or weapons locked commands should absolutely apply to them. Same for pilots too. They should also all probably obey the rudimentary command of “Stick very close” or “Feel free to wander”,…[Read more]
You realize there’s a key that allows you to move them while maintaining formation, right? so that they stay in exactly the same places relatively to each other as they did when they started moving.
It’s 5 or 6 if memory serves right.
What strikes me more so is that apparently this person did not even try to use the number keys.
But on the other hand it shows again how important a simple Game Mechanix Page in the main screen is these days.
This is a top community suggestion BTW.
More so for Recon. 🙂
While I am here I will ad something to this request.
Number Keys for…[Read more]
hmm forgot to list Passive Skill things.
Rifleman = +25HP and +5 starting combat. OK
Scout = +100? pix detection range. This makes this specialty the best first upgrade over anything else. Maybe to good. Reduce to +50xp?
Additional idea; speed increase by 25%.
Marksman = High Combat Skill but low ROF. OK
Engineer = Currently none…[Read more]

I have a protective, as in from attacks, clothing suggestion.
As far as I know there is no such thing in the current LW but do point out to me if there is.
Buff coat was an item of leather clothing worn by cavalry and officers during the 17th century, it also saw limited use by some infantry.
Buff coats…[Read more]
Nice topic idea for discussion but the title was not so, so I changed it. 🙂
First of = “Are Flak Jackets worth it?”
I never equip them, ever. Just the idea of hiking through the jungle wearing that plastic hunk of false security is not.
What mission I dislike? Top be Dead-Drop. Not because of the massive enemy force but because I have not…[Read more]
So I missed my chance to win the Long Gunner Challenge.
Playing that with so many days ahead in the hedgerows was suicide.
However I had a blast with this weeks Sudden Death Challenge.
Got stomped hard 2 times and then finally made it through.
Love the just about realistic damage dealing there. Makes for a lot faster games although the normal…[Read more]
