I’ve been experimenting with the Spec Ops in the squad and have found him to be quite useful. Using his stealth and then planting TNT is always fun but it is his last ability that makes him shine. He is able to call in French Resistance Fighters to take up dead squad mates. This ability saved me a few times so far from going from two men to four and pushed through the rest of the level. The increased movement speed and CQC combat is a nice touch and his best gun he can carry is the BAR.

Don’t worry the French Resistance is as hilarious if not more than in MB2. The first upgrade option is to get an random weapon or they get baguette which they drop and yore troops eat to restore health. Second ability appears to be wine ( not sure what it does yet) and for the third upgrade what appear to be a Molotov cocktail.

    • This topic was modified 3 years ago by Lance. Reason: changed the topic name, SpecOps was mnb2, we now have Commando, corrected spelling

I still have to try it. Since i’m not comfortable with close range combat i’m avoiding Specs, but i could switch my gunner with one of them just to try it.

the second upgrade is infact wine, and the random weapons can include german weapons, as I once gave my frenchy a FG-42, the molotovs suck at their job btw

Hmm ill have to try to give the Molotov a try, looking forward to throwing one on a tank.

I have killed a tank with the molotov. Took a while to burn completely though. After all it Finnish anti tank weapon of the era to counter soviet armor.

INFO: I changed the topic title to Commando since that is the actual name of the unit in game.
SpecOps is from MNB2 and historically that name for those units did not even exist back then.

I am very found of the Commando specialist. Even without using the Frenchies as backups their speed and close range engagement power is very vital to my game play.
Instead of waiting to pick of concealed or entrenched enemies at long range I like to charge i and mow them down, blow em up or just beat the crap out of them.
This is very dangerous but without that fear of failing factor the game is not an mnb game.
