    The drawing is sadly not from my own hand. Sorry that I did not give proper credit for its original owner but it was a random picture find and as you can see the person did not sign it.
    However in the past I drew very similar pictures so that one is nostalgic for me.
    In the text, when you returned a princess to the castle, it states that un-frogging will be free there from now on. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    @alphazomgy THAT explanation on how you achieved a score beyond anything that I thought be possible is way to short.
    You MUST tell us the whole story behind a score that suggests having killed the Tarask itself. โœ(โ—”โ—กโ—”)

    FINALLY defeated Diterlitz

    Story mode:

    Start out in this monster ridden land on top of an Elven bow. Well there goes one less immortal and one more for Gygax! Hmm seem to be near a Dwarven Fortress … that might explain that bow … Those stubby fellows don’t like being called stubby. Enters the Fortress and ask for King Stumpy … is quickly shown the exit … and met by one of the many annoying creatures of this realm. Just over a week down and more monsters are flooding into the realm, the three I’ve killed aren’t even a Blink in a Wizard’s spellbook. Came across a very informative post that said “Drink a litre of water of day” I took it to heart and feel more experienced now, let’s take a swig shall we … oh … no water … I feel less healthy now.

    Came across one of the King’s many princesses. Odd how I never find any princes in the realm. Very odd indeed … now that Kingmaker quest makes sense. Came across a portal … When those wizards used to blab about teleportation and moving vast distances in the Blink of an eye I thought they were onto something … until I step through the portal and can see the previous portal not far away. All that saved me was a an extra 30 minutes for lunch. Talking of those lob-hatted fellows; their tower is overlooking the portals. Probably rolling on the floor laughing at all the travellers who use those portals.

    Came across one of those dingy establishments I’d expect the likes of Lance or Maharbal to be in. Full of alcohol, gambling, and rooms to rent, probably women as well. This house of vices stands against everything Gygax stands for. Talking of those old and great, came across a farm and lo and behold a Excrement collector of Bersimon! Well that’s what they were using it for … luckily none of them have a musical inclination or the realm would be brought closer to the end. Well I pried that out of them and said it was a UN-holy object and that I could either burn down their farm with the horn in their possession or burn the horn somewhere far from them. They opted for the last option. Yuck … don’t think anyone will be blowing this horn once they catch of whiff of it. I wonder where Bersimon has gone off to, leaving all these horns scattered across the realm.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Magic users are now banned! Take that you Malignant magical monster meal maggots! Who is laughing now!?! I clearly am All praise the Greatest of Great Gygax! *fumble* GYGAX DAMN … prays for forgiveness wizards. *equips crossbow* Times to splice and dice. *falls into a hole* *TWICE* Shot a Basilisk right in the eye. He won’t be getting anyone stoned anytimes soon. Came across some ruins; they ruined my day. Luckily having frequent cuts from rusty kobold blades seems to build up a resistance to tetanus. Met a mummy, but don’t have any mummy issues, so turned that mummy into latrine paper.

    The princess says she recognises were we are and points to were her daddy lives. I humbly accept the reward and pray to Gygax .. and receive none. That’s why I’m in it for Gold, Glory, and God. Can’t depend on either one of them so better just to depend on all three. Bought a nice little gauche. It pairs well with my heavy sword. Probably some Cleric found it and didn’t dare use it in fear of Gygax’s punishment. One person’s curse is another’s blessing. Come across a Mindflayer … seems to be doing the work of Gygax killing all those flimsy wizards. Going to fillet this flayer for dinner tonight!

    Came across peasant today … all he talks about is potatoes and this blight that is ruining them all … as if it is come concern of mine who lives and dies. Drop him off at the farm and he promises to tell everyone about me … with a mouth like his, Tarask himself will hear about it. I bask in the glory a bit and hear one of the peasants saying they want to be just like me one day, they’re saving up a stash of odds and ends to be a knight one day … I visit this stash and claim it for Gygax. I sell it in a nearby village for some Gothic Armor … Gothic never goes out of style.

    Come across a chest and after picking it for days, I decide to give it a nice kick. Wala! Oh sure some of it’s broken, but it’s better than nothing. Drop off the items in a local village and by some Holy Water. I need all the blessing I can get *Gygax remains silent to your prayers* Like I said, I need ALL the blessings I can get. Day 50 … Tarask moves and it is felt all over the realm. Knew that peasant’s endless chatter would disturb even Tarask. Day 61 … step on a rusty nail … Monsters – 1hp, Traps – 1hp, Rusty Nails – 2hp.

    Find the Temple of Evil but betour to craft a Mithril Sword; one of the greatest swords in the realm . Find some dwarf boots nearby and enter the temple … a week later. Guess finesse is not my strong suit.

    *Diterlitz fight*

    He gets the jump on me. Does he have no honour!?! I parry his blows but he parrys mine as well. It seems we are well matched … hopefully not too well matched. I get a couple of strikes in, parrying his next blow and pushing for an advantage CRITICAL! He is blown back, I strike again and again! *fumble* My weapon lies shattered on the floor. Diterlitz grins, I panic, kick up dust and in the chaos, take out my axe. Diterlitiz now is on the defensive now, but it does him no good. CRITICAL!! CRITICAL!!

    LWillter is left with barely enough gold to buy a rotten potato that peasant was complaining about, yet his name will live forever! Well until Tarask wakes up and eats half the realm … but that don’t be more a few more months.

    Monsters – 1hp, Traps – 1hp, Rusty Nails – 2hp, Diterlitz -1hp

    Let us pray that rust nails never rise up from the ruins or we are all doomed!

    STWALT is still the nr1 default game of my pastime choice.
    It moves me very deeply to read such an awesome story of fantastic adventuring. Been way to long since someone wrote a good long game story here.
    This is a major advantage of this site with it’s forums.
    Really love your wording @lwillter. Very insightful of you to write it in such a way so that the reader will want to (need to) read the Game-Log too in order to get the full picture.
    I will definitely read this again some time.

    Feels like I am spamming the forums but it’s not my fault for being so active right now.
    ok, ok, I have a few days off and am relaxing quiet a bit now.

    My first run with an Elf for this year. Previous run with a Dwarf ended right before lvl2; Dwarfs are not my thing.
    Sadly did not find the Flower but it was a very fun run none the less.
    Fact: Elf at but lvl3 + Bow = Dead 1hp enemies for sure. ๐Ÿ™‚

    – Day 75, Fizban, The king is dead.. at level 3 after 75.24 days of travel. Fizban had 146 gold pieces in his purse and managed to gain 17 experience points.
    – Day 74, You have acquired the following item: Halfling Leaf Pipe
    *aa a good smoke before going to see the king. . . . WOW time sure flies when you’r having fun.
    – Day 74, Although delicious, this food did not improve your health.
    *That would have been something since I was at full health already.

    *I put some snake venom on the coins too.

    Great story. Liked how you commented within the record. Made it easy to understand. I think you put the hobbits to shame with all that fleeing early on, but in my experience it’s best to be safe than sorry in your first level.

    The bow was wonderful, and just a normal bow, with no quiver? I think 15 or so is a hit in the game.

    Was surprised that you missed falling into a whole … is that an Elven ability, some sort of dodge? Ah! Those darn nails! Let’s hope he doesn’t introduce rusty caltrops anytime soon. Very good job … well now the king is dead … you can take his place!

    Thanks for the reply. It seams that currently only you vied that video. Nobody else has opened the whole post on the front page so far. I can see that in the view counts.

    The Elf Character is full of surprises. Best is his 50% chance to avoid ALL damages.
    In addition he gets a +2 per level on bows like the Ranger so any Bow is already good.
    Imagine him with an Elven Bow, Quiver and maybe even training.
    Lastly, as a small treat, all demi-humans have infravision (an original D&D ability) giving them a no critical fail chance in a cave. Unsure if it works elsewhere.

    I’ll have to try him out then. I think I tried unsuccessfully to use him as a ranger mixed with some magic. Seems she can still fight well, or at least avoid being hit.

    I saw those darn rusty nails got you. Didn’t see that! The no critical fails sounds nice in a cave, will save time and health … possibly boosting profits (1 less bad thing means more likely to have good things)

    Will have to play STWALT more. Kind of all over the place now. Don’t mind the views, people will see it eventually. I think I have some videos with 0 views but I am okay with that. Think of it more as recording things not to forget.

    I just defeated a Large Red Dragon in melee combat! Playing as a Dwarf. My initial weapon was soon lost … and I only had one other weapon in my possession. The Grim Reaper Scythe. Seems it may be the choice weapon of dwarfs. In the end the Ring was not found and the realm descended into chaos. So not quite Hero worthy

    Dwarf + Grim Reaper Scythe is one hell of a good combination. Especially since all them criticals bring down large beasts a whole lot faster therefore reducing crit-fails by half on your side.
