ModeratorI was wondering if we could make our own bread in the frontier without an oven and lo and behold it is possible with only our trusty kettle and a lil fire.

ParticipantSome talk over on discord from Alexalas regarding pickling, which would be a great method of food preservation once someone hits mid-game/ more permanent living
something that would be fun would be able to pickle almost everything: pickling is super simple
Makes: 6 cups. Combine 3 cups distilled white vinegar (or cider vinegar), 3 cups water, 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons sea salt and 2 tablespoons sugar in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir until the salt is dissolved. Let boil for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat. pout mixture in jar of item to be pickled and wait a day. Items pickled last about a month.vinegar can be made from wine or vodka(or any alcoholic beverage) then the pickling part is as simple as boil the stuff to be pickled(or dont depending) and seal it. even if you have to go to town to buy the vinegar, pickling should and is very easy to do.
